Just ask any of them what they have done apart from being keyboard ecowarriors, how much land do they own, how much do they contribute to charities, how much have they sacrificed? Virtually none of them can give you an answer. I give them 24 hrs to formulate a reply then start the name calling. I'm blocked from loads of pages now. They don't like it up 'em.

Just to add some balance there are farmers who burn plastic ( next door burn 5000 bales worth),another farmer a few miles from us is renowned for letting his dirty water effluent go down the river when it is in flood.

You have bad apples in every industry however I’m confident most farmers look after their farm environment in a sympathetic fashion.

This thread just reminded me of a particularly entertaining parents evening when one of the teachers told my parents that I was too intelligent to be a farmer! How he wasn't hospitalised by mother is still a mystery!
My old A level physics teacher once asked my younger sister what i was doing a coue of years after i had left school. She told him i was at ag collage. His relpy was something along the lines of "I didn't teach him physics just so he could go and be a farmer"! Mind you, we hadn't nicknamed him Mr Muppet for nothing.
