im currently running about 1500 ewes and 40 cattle. I'm interested in doing my own fec because I think it could really boost the performance of my flock/herd. I was wondering what is the best cheap Option too get me started

Everyone on here seems to search eBay for the individual components, I couldn't be bothered so ordered a kit. It's a more expensive microscope than some of the eBay ones so hopeful it's better. Microscope instructions have been emailed and the kit should be here early next week.

If you follow @scholland 's link above, and click on one of the test kits, it helpfully lists what is in each kit. You can make your own flotation (saline) solution easily enough, the rest of the list you can source from wherever you like.
That kit doesn't look silly money tbh.

Ye I won't be bothering with the saline solution going forward from them. It came up first on a Google search and figured it was decent value.
Will know better next week!

I'm hoping it does the job, they emailed a pdf with instructions and dispatched quickly etc. Will give it a try as soon as it's home and report back.
