I sold some today at £180 to feed mill delivered.
And what they are being fed on there night out isnt home grown and if it is , its probably cow beef not prime.What’s the excuse for that,oh let me think it’s rained so no one eating outside

All the merchants have barley bought on paper from Inglis who went bust. Most of my forward bought corn at this time of year usually comes down from their store in the borders, good spring barley probably iffy malting spec saved in case of shortage.Now it’s in the receivers hands it’s moving nowhere until everything is sorted, if they even had it in the first place. This house of cards could take some more firms with it yet if it didn’t actually exist. Coupled with the cold spring catching compounders out it’s playing havoc.£202 wagon load delivered this week

What were finished cattle in 1979 ?I hope not, but the grain mARKET has been poor for too long.
Well back in 1979 when cattle were sold by the cwt, barley was £130. At the time £28 was a good price for a lamb & calves were considered dear at 50 quid.
