You don't count eulb because I've never seen anyone fill a feeder as fast as what you can with at humungeous shear grab

40minutes tonight to feed 300,2 mixes(y) straw,1round bale,1st cut ,3rd cut,alkagrain,maize gluten,biscuit meal,soya hulls and minerals.

Being set up right is the key.(y)

Oh and I have the fendt on the mixer, all the diesel it makes ...................

The theory behind mixer wagons is that you can feed a mix of forages and also feed more concentrate with a reduced risk of acidosis.
TMR = little and often feeds therefore no spikes in rumen pH. Compared to parlour feeding = 2 massive spikes in rumen pH.
However I tend to think they have been over sold to smaller herds who manage all their cows in one group

Our first feeder wagon was a kv 512 for £1500 didn't have a tractor on the front as only had 1 so with the tractor and loader I just would fill it up then hitch it up and spew it out. We run a partial tmr as we still feed in the parlour. We now have another main tractor which we now put on the wagon when it's not flat out. We just keep a battery on the wagon for the weigh cells.[emoji106]

It let's you utilise cheaper feeds for example we're feeding a load of tatties a week at moment costing £10/t. Draff at £13/t. Can alter DM content of ration if your silage is too wet by adding more straw.

We've one farm we take 9t of feed every second day to feed 260 stores. Just dump it in pass and top up hoppers and get silage and blend.
