Feed Wagons

We wanted a machine as in your 1st pic, looking at an sr holland and parking the mixer up. Feed a lot more animals per load, and as you say just layer in.
This be what I use, feedout wagon , originally from Old Taupo Road(y)

The trouble is if a major manufacturer made one it would cost silly money and you might as well run a tractor on it,I've done the cheap tractor thing (n) fed my cows with a £1000 mf 590 when I 1st started milking,I don't miss coming in smelling of diesel or oil when it wouldn't go.(n)
With you on that, used to have a old D plate case 885 low profile cab,if you didn't smell of either oil or diesel on a daily basis you were lucky,it was a lottery if it would start as well [emoji23]

Wasn't directed at you,I'd read through whole thread and was just a observation

I know it wasn't directed at me but I think it's funny how uk based forum users can talk as much sh1t about them and no one says a peep but when I have an opinion which wasn't anti everyone jumps up and down, although clay doesn't count he loves stirring sh1t went I comment on something

6cu m I thought the axles were hanging off the back a little ;)

Have you chopped your maize yet?
Maize was done over two weeks ago, with those high 20's & low 30's temperatures that we had meant that the maize up here on the hills was two to three weeks early!
Think the idea with the tandem wheels was to reduce the load on the paddock as that feedout wagon has never been used on a feed pad only in the paddock.(y)

Quick question..if I layer arable silage in with the grass silage, will one of these throw it out half mixed?? Pinched pic off Google..

At moment I mix in silage clamp on floor with sheer grab, then carry to troffs.. just wondering if this would save mixing on floor??..

Would the cows make the extra 1000 pound back for you? would it save a significant amount of time, diesel, tractor running hours? Would it stop at a grand for the keenan? Broken chain here , knackered bearing there, all adds up, then you find yourself saying maybe we should spend a bit more on a decent one and then your hooked.
Not saying it wouldn't work, but on a mainly forage based system is it worth it?

Like the look of these.

Seem to be Kiwi dairy worker proof too.
Or you could buy a small one and fill it up(y)

These are pretty awesome. Really handy for feeding bales in the paddock as well. Crazy expensive tho. That's a Robertson supercombi isn't it?

Ps careful you don't get accused of trying to convert people to becoming a nz farmer.

Or people claiming that you have no experience or right to comment or have an opinion on any farming questions simply because you live in nz. Heaven forbid you might have experience in the uk or any other country for that matter......:scratchhead:
