Feeding orphan calf lamb milk powder

I've a two day old orphan calf from a skinny old cow that has no milk (or colostrum).

I've only got lamb milk powder, which is higher in fat and protein than calf milk replacer.

I've been feeding it lamb milk (after artificial colostrum at birth), but any ideas what strength should it be mixed at?

No. Calf milk doesn't have enough fat or protein for lambs (which is why I'm wondering how much to dilute lamb milk for a calf).

Also calf milk replacer can contain too much copper for some breeds of lambs.

When we used to put powder in a volac machine, no matter what the instructions said on the bag we were told to use the powder at 10% . so each finished litre of milk has 100g of powder in it.

might help

I run volac machines at 135 g per litre, worksv well, calves can convert pretty efficiently at that stage. Give em a good start and they will flourish...hopefully .

Had an orphan lamb off of a neighbour a couple of years ago and had a half used bag of calf milk powder fed it that and he ended up tasting really nice.
Would have though concentration should be more than 100g per litre

You should be feeding lamb milk powder at around 200g/l, so calf milk powder would probably want to a whole lot higher than that. If solids are low for lambs, they will be gutty & poor and struggle to b big enough to wean at 5 weeks. I know because I neglected to calibrate my machine one time, when it had somehow been adjusted.:(
