Works well as say to myself that he has 3 times as much land and cattle and sheep and silk manages to get all done and still go silage full time over summer. He had his dad tho to help ij evening if not there. Doesn't help at times to tho as I sort of pressure myself to be like that and should be able to cope but whej I can't cope it makes me worse knowing he can cope

Just wanted to say that I have got a appointment with a private doctor person, or what ever he's classed as, on Wednesday evening at 7. He works for the old place i used to attend but does it privately to in evenings

The trouble is anxious, stressed people dont stop being anxious or stressed once they have been having CBT etc its about learning controlling and calming the situation. We all cope in a different way and its the needing to flight thats telling us to move away from the situation. Sometimes we need to change what we are doing or walk away from it if the effects are really affecting our health and well being. I am sure counselling will help enormously however you may need to rethink your job position and what you enjoy more - if the job stress is really making you ill then consider changing it to something that suits your personality. We are all pushing ourselves beyond what is now natural and for many of us we need to role it back a little.

Thanks for ur comment. I'm already decided that if I can get to end of this summer at silage job I won't be doing it full time next year. I will concentrate more on farm and do the odd day here and tbere on tractor to break the work up Abit at home. What I'd reallt love and it'l never happen is to have enough sheep and few cattle for me personally to work st alone and give me even s small work amount everyday day. Instead of having a crazy busy away from home every dry day in summer job. I know farming is never quiet tbo and wouldn't want it to Be. But stock numbers of the amount i have ij my head wouod keep me happy and content at home then if felt ready to expand my outtings more

I dont have a lot of faith in GPs either they usually want you on pills and then walk away. You would be better either asking to be enrolled on a CBT course FOC (may be long waiting list) or go direct to an experienced recommended CBT counsellor. Ask for full bloods at GP to ensure you are not low in anything.

Good to see you have already addressing your pressures. We packed in a larger construction business as it was too stressful now we just do mini digger work. I am def seeing my other half getting more anxiety as he's getting older. However, if we dont work off the farm then the money doesnt come in and we have a big mortgage to sort. Looking for work, pricing it, prep and doing it is all additional stress. The farm earns us nothing in reality and question why we do it. We juggle a lot here but Im concerned on how long we can push it before we are too old to cope. Some ways our lives are great while others its ridiculous and we have no time to enjoy.

Simple things like a piece of paper and list where you are and what you can change. What you cant change. Best of luck.

Saw a program on TV about anxiety a few weeks back - very interesting as my daughter has bad anxiety issues. They had a sample group and tried different therapies for them - the one that they all thought worked was called "Mindfullness". My daughter is now doing this, and it helps her.

Don't know if this is feasible for you but I have also started doing yoga with her. Before you get the impression that I'm some sort of hippie, I'm a 50 year old fat bloke with dodgy knees, and about as far removed from hippidom as you can imagine. I'm only doing a beginners class, but it's been a revelation. I'm so much more relaxed and I am just feeling healthy physically and mentally. I am now organising my week so that I don't miss the session.

Good luck though in whatever you try.
