Stop eating lunch.

If you feel inside your shirt and aren't touching a thin layer of skin over muscle and bone, then you've got plenty of calories to see you through the day.

Make friends with hunger and black coffee and power on through...
I eat a fraction of what I used to and don't get tired like I used to ,

So far this year I've been fasting Mondays and Thursdays.

It doesn't effect my energy, the evenings are a drag on those days, but it helps my digestion /mood across the week.

I strongly believe that everyone should self - experiment with different diets and regimes. It costs nothing and the results are fascinating. Most people eat most things simply out of habit.

I seem to feel quite sleepy after eating my few sandwiches and salad veg at mid lunchtime, do any other members suffer with the same problem?
If so have you found any cures that help alleviate the problem?
From what I have read on the internet,I get the impression it is meant to be better to keep having a nibble at food during the day rather than tucking in and eating one’s lunch box in one go!!!
Thanks for any suggestions.
Drink lots of water like at least 8 pints a day

I find that a pack of Jerky satisfies my appetite when I’m out and about.

Anyone fasting would do well to get associated with using one of these … https://www.glucorx.co.uk/our-products/glucorx-nexus-blue/

When you reach the age of late 50’s, early 60’s, an annual NHS MOT is a good thing and can help subtly changing a few things to keep us more healthy. The only problem being that as you get older, levels that were acceptable become less so, requiring more changes and starting to take medication that we will probably need for the rest of our lives for things such as high blood pressure.

I have become at risk from Diabetes (pre diabetic) and am making changes to my diet to prevent it becoming the full blown problem. NHS are actually very good at offering advice on this, having an entire department for doing so. I have cut out chocolate, which was one of my daily pleasures. You soon learn not to miss it and lose that craving. So much so that you start to view the sweets isle at the supermarket with horror.

The problem is that we all get older and can no longer do the things we used to do so easily or the long hours that once seemed not to be a problem. What absolutely doesn’t help or seems to reduce is the stress of it all, unless you are determined to try to manage it.

I was diagnosed type 2 about 25 years ago - Not convinced it was due to a “lethargic” lifestyle ‘cos I was involved in milking cows 3x, developing a bottling plant and building up 5 milk rounds and not overweight.

Maybe an over reliance on Ibuprofen had an adverse impact on my pancreas, I don’t really know but what I do know is that the regular medication doesn’t affect blood glucose control anywhere near as much as cutting out carbs (not specifically sugar) A meal including bread, potatoes, pasta or bakery products is a once a week indulgence nowadays

Try going gluten-free for a while and see if that helps.

Works for me.
