Definitely digi. If you lift her foot and put your finger on it, you will see how painful she finds it. It’d be worth starting a more diligent foot bathing regime and look for other bad cases (lift feet of all lame cows) and look at heels in the parlour.

I would want a cow like that treated and kept somewhere dry for a few days like a straw pad. She will be glad of it and it will help prevent transmission.

I’d also consider how you can practically foot dip dry cows (if AYR calving). They will be a reservoir.

We may have seen the odd case but I've always dismissed it as something else. They might get 6/8 weeks in straw yards over winter but my cows are otherwise outside. As long as we can keep the yards clean hopefully it won't establish itself too much.
We picked It up when we moved here, a bit of footbathing with that smelly provita stuff, and we haven’t had a case now for 12 years

What are guys doing for actual treatment of digital dermatitis besides blanket footbathing whole Herd? For years we have always done tetracycline wraps for 2 days on individual cases. Anybody done a copper sulphate wrap how were the results?
