When I started I bought the brass knobbly disk type.
Got on fine with it, so am still using that type. Not doing big numbers though, mid teens in a good day.

Never used a cordless grinder, just have a lower mid priced one from Screwfix. I find Amazon can be hit and miss for vat invoices.

That’s the disc I use, seems to work well enough do create a bit of heat if you have something that’s over grown

use tool station, free next day delivery, if order over £10, and by 4.00 pm. We use them a lot, slightly better quality than screwfix, and no hassle driving to town, to get anything, usually here by 10.00 am.

Plus it's good to keep the senior partner occupied with errands 😁
I'm the senior partner, or gofer, and have been self isolating, due to a very nasty chest infection, which put me in hospital ! £25 is still cheaper than driving, and can soon reach that figure anyway, £10 would be better, but to be fair, it was stupidly cheap.
Since the start of lock down, it's quite scary to realise, how little l have actually travelled, further than locally. Even a 10/15 mile trip, seems a bit of an adventure, and there is nothing difficult to actually obtain.

if just starting out with a grinder try one of these abrasive discs. Less aggressive until you get a feel for it. Also a lot cheaper to get started with if you feel that using a grinder isn’t for you.

Always good to run an errand, soon find a drive through of some description to replenish fluids or solids

I'm looking at that and thinking that will generate heat easily, which you don't want. Proper blade discs are obv the best for the job BUT you need the hoof to be totally restrained. I've never bothered with one having watched someone advise using one on some wood to get a feel for how aggressive they are. I'm with the buffalo, always used the disc with lots and lots of mini teeth. They can generate a bit of heat if you're too gung ho, but use it sensibly and it's a great balance between safety and ability to do the job.
