Having a wonderful time , with nothing drilled it’s going to be a very busy springFunnily enough (or actually not funnily enough) the latter is painfully close to the truth. Had three drills going at one point and I was driving the 750a. Seed boots kept blocking up and could only go in the middle of the day. Got an embarrassingly small amount done given the effort expended. A lot of swearing. Dreading the stuff coming up. Have a beach holiday booked for New Year and can't wait. Don't expect to have drilled all the fields intended for autumn cropping by then.
How are you faring?
At least you know what you will be doing. i find it a right PITA when you want to be drilling and spraying/ferting winter crops.....Having a wonderful time , with nothing drilled it’s going to be a very busy spring
Assuming you're referring to having a sizeable part of the farm in an environmental scheme, yes, by sheer luck and no judgement I picked the perfect year to go down this route.
Needs sheep lambing too for good measure.....At least you know what you will be doing. i find it a right PITA when you want to be drilling and spraying/ferting winter crops.....
I’m so glad I’ve got 6 ton of linseed in a trailer so at least I have a crop which can be drilled cheaply rather than being fleeced for a tonnage of spring barley that everyone else is growing , I’m hoping that if it dries out enuff I will be able to put the linseed straight into the ground with the vaddyAt least you know what you will be doing. i find it a right PITA when you want to be drilling and spraying/ferting winter crops.....
