Give us a clue to location, soil type ie is it good ground or rock/shale, straight lines or zig zags like a crocodile's teeth and what materials, do you want 10 year max tantalised timber or Creo 30year timber.

P.s. I have no idea where Prince William lives.

Soil type ,light sand
set off from gate 40m straight , then bear right 30 degrees then straight 200 .with 2x12 ft gates , then 10 m at 90 degrees to existing fence then 200 m paralell
to it to fence foot path with 12 ft gate at end
10 year tantalised
just wondered what materials cost nowadays , as asked some one who does fencing and he said £5000😳

Can't think that would be far out to be fair. Horse net and a top rail be even more.

Last job we had done normal stock fence with 2 barb was £3/metre to erect
Stock fence was just over £1/metre
Creo stakes same
Barb 25p/metre
Strainers £25
Would have done ourselves if had time

We do clipex by hand, just a one man job on solid clay. We use telegraph poles or gate posts for strainer. I would save money on the rail and have a top line of electric rope, it keeps everything off the fence, and leaning over the top, especially horses.
When we put in wooden posts, about seven years ago, the cost of the workers was more that the cost of the fencing, gates and posts.

not being funny but you have forgotten the struts , a fence wont be strained without them .it will be all wibbly wobbly floppy doppy as you pull the wire up to tension, especially the top wires ..

Remember A straining post consists of a 2 (or 3) parts .

and whats the teleporter for ?

big creosote posts for strainers and joins....use the sleeve to start the posts then push in with teleporter in good conditions....plus pulling wire up tight

what can i say...i'm a bodger who likes good materials :bag:😁......mind you i've started a 'consultancy' and got my first customer😁

i watched right through one winter yrs ago...it came on 5pm every night....can't remember the channel :scratchhead: ...it was really good... i liked the bit at the end when they were divying up the money and the farmer said 'i'll but that field and a tractor'😁😁

Used to watch it with Mum and Dad when it came out in the late Seventies ,that and the 'sort of similar in a way.'...Enemy at the door .
Allo ,Allo was a good parody imo, funny but not disrespectful by David Croft.

imstill using concrete straining posts and scaffold pole for struts, drill holes with an earth drill i made, quite often just bang a run of clipex in by hand to save hooking up the knocker, them fences will still be up long after im gone i expect.
i see eco are a usefully bit cheaper atm as well.
