we use pointed ex GPO poles for strainers, gate posts, they last years, and the creosote doesn't go right through, always a bit of untreated in the middle. Moved lec fence for the hfrs today, where the had stood under the hedge, 5 stakes snapped off, 7 years ?, at the most, tanalised, crape shite.
we have a small wood of larch, as strainers, gate posts, they last pretty well, but, that hard to get, easier to buy the ex GPO ones.

Well they gone in , Fencing contractors well impressed, sad the creo was running out as he drove the staples in View attachment 893884
HT net and barb ? I enjoy fencing, but its a ####pain, when the posts don't last ! My rich London neighbour, has to keep a stockproof fence between us. He cannot understand why posts don't last, I can, he used a couple of cowboys to put it up, with the cheapest stakes possible, I must have replaced a few hundred staples, they used small ones ! Not looking forward to telling him, a lot more stakes rotted off ! One good thing, fencing here, we can push the stakes, strainers and gateposts in, with the telehandler !
