John. i cant justify the stockade. everything more expensive than the tjep.
yes the tjep staples are a bit narrower but thats the only difference the gap to hold wire is the same and the length is the same.
ive never had an issue.
the thing that rankles me is stockade themselves and stockade owners totally dismissing the tjep. montana etc. as some mickey mouse tool. and most have never used it.
i would like to have seen who wouldve bought what if they were launched at the same time.
stockade were undoubtedly lucky that they had no competitor to go up against.
why not have a go of one John.
you may be pleasantly surprised.
I've got a stockade air gun and it's been spot on. The compressor however, is the most expensive piece of w#*k I've ever owned.

Elaborate. What's wrong with them?
They're no better than the Clarke I used to have imo, apart from the revs cut down.

It's too heavy for what is is, the drain plugs seize up. Fuel cap won't stay on anymore and the starter assembly wore out, I think they wanted £120 for a replacement, but got them down in the end.

We have run a stockade for over a year, I wasn’t aware of many other names at the time!
I went for the air driven one, I’ve never been keen on gas and battery changing so we mounted an air tank and pto driven compressor on the tractor and a petrol driven compressor on the tracked knocker. All investment but it speeds up stapling and saves the wrist on big wiring days

Has anyone worked out the cost over time saved etc with using staple guns against using a hammer and normal staples

A 20kg tub of 40mm staples say £50
Box of 2520 staples for gun £95
Makes the hammer and normal staples a lot cheaper in my book,
But if the gun can get the wire secured in seconds per post won’t that make it cheaper through moresonw in a day kind of way?
If that makes sense

Another thing to consider is the damage hammering can do to your health over the long term.
