Evening men

just wondering what’s people thoughts are on this particular model range the fendt farmer 400 series 1999-2006

I keep seeing the odd 412 with a loader on they look a handy bus but almost always with big hours on 10k plus.

I do own a 716 favorit and been one of the best machines we’ve owned shes grand.

Is the smaller sibling just as good ? any potential problems areas ?

thanks

I’ve used a 415 and it was a cracking tractor. Would have one before a 714/716, ideal on a combi drill or sprayer. They were well ahead of the trend of today producing a high hp 4 cylinder tractor

Personally can’t rate them highly enough!
No TMS or electric spools on a farmer range but still have a twin speed 50k vario, exhaust brake and suspension etc.
Unfortunately they (including mine) are all over 10,000 hrs these days but I’ll not trade it in anytime soon.

Why would you want a 415 over a 716? Have a 412 and 716 here and apart from the 412 being a bit more reliable the 716 is a far superior tractor in every way, more stable and smoother on the road, easier on fuel and better steering lock. Maybe a 415 addresses some of these things but I’ve no experience with them.

Whoever actually ever has a problem with electric spools 🤷‍♂️

Lots of trouble with the bosch spools SB23 , way sensor cracks and spools are free.
1000€ for a spare. If all of them go you will pay 5000€ at least ridicoulus
paid less for a new gearbox on my Massey in the 90s
There is a german that is rebuilding them with a 3d printer and carbon tubes.
