Fendt 716 Engine speed

Hi all, I have a 2002 fendt 716. Is there a way to turn down the tick over/ idle as its been idling between 870 and 950 or is there something else that is wrong.

Something else is wrong. It should be rock steady.

How fast do you think the idle speed should be?

800rpm.

The adjustment screw is at the back of the engine under the air filter. Check that it is returning to the stop. Throttle cable might be sticking

If the govener diaphram is no good it can cause high idle also but check cables first

It could be the throttle cable going tight. I used to drive a 2000 716 and that a couple of cables on it in the time I drove it.
