Had one on demo for a few days, I liked it alot, the build quality was top draw. Its main job would be pulling a 5000l 30m chafer trailed sprayer with liquid n so pulling a heavy load with row crops on some steep awkard banks and they could be greasy and i want a stable tractor to boss the sprayer!
Using a nh 7070 at the min and its spot on with the sprayer never had a moment with it and its been a good tractor. But its a heavier tractor and longer wheel base than the fendt and it seems more stable and it does grip better than the fendt. Had an 828 to try and i liked it more than the 724 and 65kmh!

Should i price up an 8 series of will the 724 be man enough?

We have the same sprayer on a 724 good combination easily man enough for the job have some steep hills, we considered the 828 but were worried about the extra weight when on rowcrops.

It's not just horse power but traction especially on the hills with no run up and with row crops and it's slippery underneath.200hp minimum. The tractor needs to be boss, wouldn't dare put our 6080 on it.

As long as the weights there its surprising what those little tractors can do 828s are lovely but if its only spraying the 724 sounds better matched

Should think the 724 would be the right machine tom, not like you are on the rolling Yorkshire wolds like us lads!
You can always plan out the spraying a bit, we work it so we are not full when on the steepest parts

A left field thought would be a Deutz 7250 as compared to a Fendt 828 in FW this week. Funnily enough when our local dealer lent me one to try in the summer when asked for my opinion I told him if you couldn't make up your mind between a 724 or an 828 it might be the tractor! We have a 724 in our fleet which run from bare up to 1800kg front weight plus 4x300kg rear wheel weights, which other tractor manufacturers take note, can be added or removed in well under an hour. Everybody who drives it likes it.
