Fendt 936 gen 6

Recently got a new gen 6 936. Just wanting users opinion on adblu usage as it seems to like a drink.

currently it’s using 10.5 % of fuel use. This seems a lot to me on relatively light work at the moment. I’ll have it on a deep ripper next week but slightly concerned how much it will use on heavier work.

939 experience and it was like clockwork. 1 tank of adblue to 2 tanks of red when working hard on pto work. If in foot pedal mode for transport etc then usage was a lot less. If you want reduced adblue use then the vario tractors from CNH are great.

My S5 has averaged 1.6 lts per hr over its lifetime. On heavy work it will spot at around 3lts hr, doing 2 days on a tank, on lighter work it will do 3-4 days, on haulage jobs it will do 5 days without too much trouble. That does seem excessive, will it calm down when it’s clocked a few more hours?

I thought yours is a s4 same as my other one? My 927 s4 is one tank adblu to two tanks diesel so about 2.5% or similar to yours. I was expecting the new one to use more but not this much more. Abdul tank is needing filled before fuel.

apparently it might settle down by 500 hrs, only about 170 on it so far.

Can we see pictures, particularly of it on a deep ripper doing some serious work?

pic on the baler is in new toy day thread. This was first job for it.
Middle pic is getting ready to head to next spray job 170 km away and last pic is the only time both have been together I was swapping the sprayer to the new one.
I’ll get some next week when on ripper. Only a 7 leg machine but will give it a test on some heavy land.

That's every young farmer's wet dream no? All those aerials and by the looks of if a weather station/anemometer?

yes there is a weather station on the roof. Most of my spraying is contracting applying herbicide on the broadacre land used for cereals. Many of the farms I go to also grow potatoes, onions, carrots and I seem to be constantly dodging these irrigated circles.

the weather station is a must so I know exactly what the weather conditions are to avoid a problem

This is fantastic, never seen this before, good luck to you. PS If you are an OZ... The Big Jez Show?

Yes, my experience is with gen 6 936, working hard you run out of ad blue before diesel, can’t tell you a percentage but it’s 2 or 3 times the rate of an s4 doing the same job

Yes in my experience there’s a few bits you’ll have to “just live with” radio control that doesn’t work, gps faults that a software update might fix but might not, 4wd that doesn’t work etc

Radio issue seemed to be pretty common here, no volume control and when you turn the tractor of the radio keeps going at its volume all night, only way to stop it is remove the battery, last time I asked they were working on it, gps issue was that gyroscope had to be calibrated every time you start the tractor, also I reverse drive a fair bit and the autosteer has always been very poor in reverse but the gen 6 basically won’t follow the line in reverse drive. 4 wd isn’t broken as such but the whole extra lead to the front thing means that when turning tight the tractor makes a right mess of the ground as the tractor spins the front wheels trying to drag itself round, in reverse drive it’s even worse as you have a rear wheel steer rear wheel drive vehicle and the inside wheel slips a lot, makes far more mess turning than the old s4 doing the same job

Not ideal.

not had any of those problems. My radio issue was that it was connecting and disconnecting Bluetooth all the time. Fixed with an update last week. Gps is the best I’ve used to be honest. That includes using the best in business jd or so everyone has been brainwashed to think.

I’ve really not noticed any extra lead to the front wheels. I was actually wondering where the so called pull in effect was.

all in all I find this a huge step up from previous s4 except for adblu use which can be fixed even if agco don’t fix it

942 here, using about 2l/hr AdBlue on heavy PTO work. No other issues other than the radio playing up to report.

Interestingly it’s using roughly the same diesel as the 2019 936 s4 it replaced.

Overall I’m very happy with it.

that’s more like it. Mine is using 1.8l/hr over the 180 hours I’ve had it. Max use I’ve seen is up at 5l/hr.

it is very good on diesel though as you say. My s4 927 is tweaked to 300 and it uses exactly the same fuel as the 936. Total fuel and adblu is less than the old one for work done
