Fendt dicky spools

Anyone else have issues with fendt spools? Struggling with them on silage trailers. If trailer is tipped to the very top you struggle to get it back down. It’s not a trailer issue, it’s definitely the tractors. If you full extend the ram you struggle to get it back into float. Also when powering down the back door it will keep sticking or even send oil the opposite direction. Also when on the dribble bar and the macerator is on constant pump it will keep stopping. Getting frustrated with it now, I like the tractors but they can’t seem to sort it and it’s wasting to much time. Also on a quad rake it can be a nightmare and cause the rake to fold itself up whilst running. Thanks . 3 x 19 plate 2700 hr 716’s all doing the same.

That is very odd. Never seen anything like that. If it was 1 tractor I’d suggest it’s something to do with the setup. Timer left on is a classic. But all 3 doing the same I can’t explain.

Bad batch of valves if all three are the same age ,,jcb did it with their mini diggers ,,pumps were made to poverty spec in Germany and hundreds of machines were affected .
Ask your dealer if theres been a recall or if any others have been giving trouble

The standard valves do have problems connecting and leaking. On my old tractor I replaced a number of connectors over the time I had it. I can’t remember the correct name but it is always worth specifying the valves from a 900 on a new tractor, they are the ones with a lever for each spool you can use to release the pipe. They are much better.

Wont help @bigrigg150 with his problems

you sure it’s not the hyd oil level dropping below minimum at full stroke?

If that happens it’ll lock the hydraulics out.

Spool couplings locking is normally the connectors worn (causing trailers to stick up) I’ve had that on my 7480 but the other problems must be the valves themselves?

If they are all 19 plate and all suffering the same problem ,,ide be ringing the dealer for a warranty claim.
Surely fendt have a three year warranty
Only if you pay for it, 1st 12 months is free which is nice of them. That was a few years ago now, they might be feeling more generous now, you might even get 2 years now!!!

oil on demand is the way to run rakes , dribble bars etc , then the oil flow is all ways right , never had a problem with any of ours how high have you got oil flow set

I have experimented with having the oil absolutely full on the gauge (do try to keep it that way all the time anyway) and it didn’t make a difference. It is covered under warranty, they are trying to sort it but not managed to yet, the oil flow just tends to be on full. And yes I agree with the oil on demand thing 👍👍 they are on with trying to sort it and they have put new “spool splices/slices” on but it hasn’t worked. I just wondered if other people were have problems but it sounds like not.

Is there a way of running a macerator off the load sensing? I’ve seen something on hear about running a fan on a drill so could be done the same? Just thinking would have a spool free then as dribble bar uses 3 and need two for front linkage and reeler
