Fendt engine problem

Was looking for people who might have experience similar issues and how they fair out with fendt in getting it sorted
Well I imagine if you bought it off dealer, dealer serviced or is still in warranty I would imagine they will sort it. If it’s out of warranty, bought off eBay and serviced by yourself I would imagine they will sort it but will cost you more...

Infrared thermometer on the manifold maybe would show up a colder cylinder than the others, not easy on such a compact manifold though otherwise it’s compression testing time which to be honest on that type engine would nearly be as time consuming as removing the head!!!

Check breather pipe for back pressure if it has lots then it’s likely to be a melted (holed) piston.
Mine was diagnosed with a borescope down the injector sleeve

Do you not just plug in the laptop now to check compression? I know modern jd’s are like now. Whatever it is, it is going to need stripping down to investigate. Could it have dropped a valve, blowing pressure back past the rings?

Depending on age and how much access the Fendt dealers are having with Serdia or whatever software Deutz are using now you should be able to knock cylinders off one by one and monitor some temps etc to give you a better idea of the problem cylinder. Unfortunately they still haven’t trained the laptop to drain the oil, drop the prop and sump off, whip the bonnet and pipes etc and head off and sand down and clean all the surfaces!! ? ? ?

Would be a hell of a laptop. It was a 4 man job to get the bonnet off a 215R last week :ROFLMAO:

That’ll be old school ?
Remember this is a modern tractor! you have to remove the engine to get the sump off.

Quite possibly. That’s one thing I’ve never considered on a Fendt if the sump comes off! The fudging propshaft collers are not the easiest things to remove or replace on your own, you kind if need that third hand again aswell as using two knees to hold it up!!! At least you don’t need to remove the front axle or hang it up in the air like a blue tractor.....
