Fendt headland turn assistant

Is this where the tract steers on the headland or when it controls the machine automatically when you reach the headland? TBH I forget all the different options.

I have the second one, no idea of cost as it came on the tractor new as part of section control. Only use it for the drill, it’s handy but not a game changer.

Looks like a good system, £400 seems good value, I think quite a lot of time could be saved, so efficiency should pay for it quite quickly.

we have just go it in the last few days , not used it yet , think it is about £400 & odd per tractor

On our price list £400 sounds more like contour assistant. TI headland management is of the order of 2000 on our price list.

EDIT: £2000 was for the previous generation 700, gen6 price for TI appears to be about £1000 on the price list.

That sounds more like it, they don’t always make it clear what part of the system you are getting, seems to be different prices for unlocking different parts of system depending on what part of system you purchase in first place!!

We have had Fendts contour assist for a year now. Its a fantastic bit of software. Only one minor niggle is that it came with no "instruction manual" so getting to grips with it is a bit seat of the pants! There are a few youtube vids out the now that are well worth a watch. One top tip would be..... don't put in headland contours from an existing boundry. My prefered method it to record the headland segments for each field, all previous AB or Contour waylines are retained.

How about the headland turn assistant? Our Fendt has the older Topcon receiver and these new features are not available for that as far as I know. Wish I had looked after swap options when they were offered, if they were offered at my place.

I do the headland from the existing boundaries, are you creating the headland and the contour segments manually at the same time. Why is this better?

RRP on TI Headland turn assist (auto headland turns) is £2022
For some reason, I can't try it with a Gen6 700 serial number

There was an offer on when launched, where if you had the AutoTI already unlocked on your tractor (where it did the go/end functions automatically) you could upgrade to full Headland TI for a lower price, but I think that offer has finished now

@Northern farmer there is still an upgrade program running on the Topcon systems to trade-in for a Novatel RTK one until 30th April 2021, also applies to some aftermarket GPS kits too

May sound a silly question, but what is contour assist?
An unlock that allows you to create advanced waylines, so a boundary can be split into lots of little waylines that automatically swap as you go round the field, or create a single wayline if you are following non-gps tramlines. This video explains it much better than I can.

Topcon on old tractor here and Trimble receiver on new one I got a month ago.
Contour assist is brilliant. Headland passes for any width implement taken straight from the boundary or record any other contours needed.
Looking at adding auto ti later in year as I will be able to set it up as a form of section control for twin mowers. Not too bothered by auto turn as I need something to do really on the headlands.
