Fendt or Fastrac

There was talk of reversing the sprayer into corners. It’s reversing where the 4ws really shows up a 2ws.. not just down to outright turning circle, the fastrac can reverse a trailer twice the speed of a fendt as the rear end is catching the trailer so quick. As for 540’s, not sure why you would use them? The 600’s are massive in comparison. Agreed still small compared to a fendt on big rubber. Can the fendt retain it’s good lock while on wide rubber without going over the legal width limit for high speed tractors.. doubtful. If the fendt is over width then not really fair to compare to a width constrained 4220.

Having owned and operated 4 Bateman's, all 4WS SP machines and still run multiple JCB loadalls, I am well aware of the benefits of 4WS. How long have you owned or run a trailed Horsch sprayer? Trust me the turning circle of a Fastrac on wide tyres is shyte compared to a Fendt. The maths is simple due to the fact that one tractor is limited to only having narrower tyres on one axle. I ask again what is the turning circle of a Fastrac on 650"s or 710's, a tyre width necessary in winter months pulling a trailed sprayer that may weigh 14t plus.

Fendt is legal at 65k In Europe

The discussion was about the UK. It is only legal at 65k in some European countries, not all.

look up the full spec for high speed tractors & front opening doors are not on it .3220 fastracs were but not 4220

Maybe you’d better post it then as the one I’m looking at (C&U 1986) has no mention of forward opening doors.

That’s true, what happens if you crash the fendt and it can be proven speeding.. No insurance?

speeding doesn’t invalidate insurance ! if it did a awful lot of car accidents would not be covered

worst that could happen is operator could get a speeding fine and points

if speed. wss found you be cause of an accident then the same dangerous driving charge could be bought against driver of either Fendt or JCB i suspect

Yes, that sounds right.. keep the fendt flat out then, it’ll be fine.. has anybody been stopped/ done for speeding in a tractor?

have you ever driven a teleprorter with 4ws or a fastrack with 4ws then got back onto a normal tractor?

it certainly sounds like you have not as the difference is staggering, i just cant believe you genuinely think it can turn sharper
Is that a serious question? If so then ignorance on your behalf. I am sure nearly all farmers' have driven a teleprorter (whatever that is) but assuming you mean a tele-handler. I believe the OP was asking a serious question about a tractor to pull a large trailed Horsch. We are talking a trailed machine, not a mounted one. Perhaps anyone that does not understand tyres could spec their new trailed Horsch sprayer with 540/65 R30's??? A Fendt 828 has a narrower turning circle on 600/710 front/rears than a Fastrac on equivalent tyres. Equally the Fastrac hitching point is further back within the wheelbase thus making the whole unit longer when in short work, that is why turning circle is important. If you want to discuss ISOBUS and other reasons why a Fendt is a better option then happy to help, Horsch/Leeb sprayers were largely designed around integration with Fendt tractors.

Or a Valtra T234D with 200l/min pump and a much better engine than Jd?

I'd go for Fastrac because of the comfort and 4ws.

200l/min@rated speed vs. 160l/min@1600rpm is basically the same; From my perspective both engines could break and the main thing after that is if you have qualified repair man nearby.

Just read the initial post again I can't see any mention of sprayer brand ??
