Fendt transmission

7 years ago I went on a coach trip to the Leyland Daf factory in Lancashire
afterwards there was a tour of the museum and I was standing in the pope mobile but that's not what I want to say..... there was a guy there who was expert on engines and he said the leyland lorry engine which had block and head cast as one unit was unreliable in this country but in New
Zealand was very successful clocking up huge mileages and the reason was given as you could drive for hours without altering speed so does the same apply to Fendt tractors

The only place in Nz that you could drive steadily for a few hours is Canterbury and thats not even that big. Sure the European motorways would be a much better bet for hours of steady drive.

Most of the north island, top, west and bottom of the south island is pretty twisty and hilly.

This is probably one of ur 818 fendts before u got it I think

Hi often read about how fendt transmissions fail at 8000 hrs. That is not my experience.

716 19000 hrs
716 14000 hrs
716 10200 hrs
818 16500 hrs
818 16200 hrs. Just recently had transmission replaced
824 9800 hrs
926 14700 hrs
720 5500 hrs
720 3200 hrs
927 2000 hrs

Over 110 000 hrs on fendt transmissions and only 1 has failed at 16 000 hrs.
Pretty reliable if ask me.
Similar experience here as well, not a transmission to worry about.

Can't be sure but would a new vario fitted to a 724 not cost a lot more than this? If it was a 10k bill did dealer or fendt maybe contribute 40%

No he had it repaired independently as there’s a few people able to do Fendt vario’s now. £6000 total and no help from Fendt.

That's interesting.

QTP had an exchange box on show in Sima some years back.

Then were hunted out the door....
