Fendt Varioterminal touchscreen doesnt work

Hi,

On my used 516, the terminal doesnt appear to have touchscreen enabled. It worked for a short period when i bought it, but now seems completely off. The screen appears fine, the menus are accessible with the buttons on the side of the terminal. Any tips on how to troubleshoot? I tried recalibrating with the + sign, but the touchscreen didnt even work there.

If it's a 3b model with the grey surround try blowing around the edge with compressed air as dust can stop it working. Otherwise the touch screen is prob faulty. They are $5500 new for a replacement or you can buy a $80 screen off ebay and fit it in

Holy sh!t, 5500! Is it difficult to replace yourself with a $80-dollar non-fendt?

It definitely needs a new screen. Had to replace a grey surround one on a 720 I had, symptoms were the same. I think I paid £900 for a new dealer fitted one.

Ah well, guess thats it then The external buttons work though, guess i can just use them for a while

That was nzd price also. They are not to bad to do as long as you take it slowly any electronic place could change for u they only help in with double sided tape once the circuit boards are removed.

Buttons are fine, with knackered screen in time they won’t highlight the icon you want

Does anyone know what type of touchscreen this is? Mine is also dead and i hear the most of the SCR's touchscreens go dead after 5000hrs.

Depend of age of screen they used different touch panels. Be careful they are nasty made. Easy to damage when you try to open. Call me if you want. I left you me nr in your box

Our Fendt seems to have the first symptoms of the touch screen failure. The display itself is fine but the digitizer misbehaves when the screen is cold.

I see many companies that repair these displays but all are abroad (I'm not from the UK). Any recommendations for parts only? AliExpress has displays and digitizer panels, would the display typically have the touch panel included or is it a separate part (I've asked an AliExpress shop but haven't got any answer yet, perhaps they don't even know)? Wonder why there are so many discussions about swapping the display if it is "only" the digitizer that needs to be replaced.

I have not disassembled the vario terminal yet but it is from an SCR model, resistive touch panel then.

Couldnt find anything that matched, the one i got from Ali had the wrong connectors Think i would send some of the "approved" shops mentioned earlier here a message and see if they can send.
