I remember when we shifted from a 718 and an 820 to two new 724's and we all thought "why did they change that?"
Again we've moved to a new operating platform and ask the same question.
I guess none of us look for too much change but I have to say after a bit more time again today there is a lot to like about the new design and things are becoming quickly familiar and very easy and logical.

wonder how many markets require dab radios. No sign of it down here yet.

I regularly drive some jd and can honestly say my next tractor will still be a Fendt. Jd down here are very much take it or leave it. Can’t get the spec I want on factory orders. Fitted at dealer at massive cost

DAB is essential here, it’s the best way to listen to the cricket 😁

Have they moved the exhaust brake on the gen6’s, bloody stupid place on our 724
Same spot on my gen 6 I love it there I’m used to it now after 20 years and plus dog doesn’t sit on it like the stupid CNH place right near the door lost count the amount people that have hit that when in passenger seat. Before people moan at me it’s my preference for myself :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Same here Richard.
I can't even think of anyone I know who is running digital cameras.
Bit of a trap, as it turns out all the first Gen 6's have been inadvertently ordered and arrived with just the digital sockets.

that explains why I can only find 2 camera connectors on my one then 🤦‍♂️

Wouldn’t be surprised if early ones here are the same.

how do you find the new screen setup. Looking forward to trying one here but gen 7 900 series are a bit off yet

I came from a Deere to a gen 6 720 but had driven a few of the older 724’s briefly in the past,I find the new screen a lot easier to navigate personally than it’s predecessor

Case 1 is perfect, out the way of your foot when you don’t want it, fendt 1 is right where I want my foot when in field work 🤷🏻‍♂️

Official explanation at present is the very first production builds of FendtOne were fitted with all 4 camera ports as per the build code chosen.
However they had issues with the analogue version not working in tandem with the digital option so were left out.
A new digital switch box/ controller was developed but in the interim tractors came down the line with only the digital sockets fitted even after the new controller was rolled out as the build codes hadn't caught up with the new upgrade.
So in short the new digital/analogue controller is fitted but everyone is waiting for the cables to arrive.
First world problems. 😬

may least it sounds like it will be put right. Just frustrating until it is.

i like the old screen but I put 1700 hrs per year on it so know it well. Don’t drive the gen 4 that much and find it clumsy in comparison. Funny how we get used to something.
I really like how the Fendt can store implement profiles. Annoys me trying to remember all settings when changing machines on the Deere.
The new screen seems very user friendly in the 724 I sat in for 5 minutes. Hopefully have a 900 for a day or 2 when they get here.

Quite a bit different from our current S4's and potentially a little intimidating for a new to Fendt operator.
Personally I don't think we're any better off with all the changes, well at least not for what we do.
I would have been just as happy to have a second screen and the old layout.
Just missing the two cables up in the roof but fortunately there is enough hand space to fit them without having to take the roof off.
Problem is the cables have to come from Germany and given the current state of freight and supplies down here I'm not sure how long that might take.
Checked with the guy who sells us our Ag camera kits and he said even if we change the plugs ,the analogue cameras we have won't work through the digital sockets.
Probably 99 % of the cameras on implements here will be the analogue version.

Did you get the Analogue cameras work I’ve bought the leads as I only had 2 digital ones but still no picture on screen did you have to have them activated or anything else

Complete new switchbox/controller fitted into the roof of the 718 Gen 6 and our analogue cameras are working with that but still waiting for the 724 to be done.
Whole roof has to come off to fit it into the roof cavity.
Just fitting the analogue leads doesn't seem to work , well at least it didn't on the 724.

Wondering why do you all seem to insist on the old analogue camera approach when the new tractor has a working interface for a digital camera?

I've been looking for digital cameras for our new (coming) tractor that does not have digital camera inputs. My plan was to replace my old rear view camera screen with a tablet where I could have a much more accurate (higher resolution) view in addition to many other applications on the same screen.

Are the original Fendt digital cameras expensive? Are they not sort of standard IP cameras (possibly power-over-ethernet)? Any after market digital cameras suitable for tractors?

I guess it’s because of what is already on the farm. I have 4 cameras on different machines, in the next week or so I will have a Fendt One tractor. My sprayer is the only one of the machines with cameras that is only used by the Fendt and my other tractor does not have a digital camera connection.

Will be interesting to see if I can get them all working on the new tractor

I don't know which digital cameras Fendt One can handle but I would say analogue cameras are like the first colour TV while a good digital camera is like 4K video, better than HD TV. Using a computer/tablet display allows e.g. left and right front cameras being combined to a 240 degree view.

In our case the old tractors can continue with analogue cameras. The tractor attached cameras obviously do not get mixed but in our case neither the machines that have cameras, we would not use those implements with this Fendt.

The offering of different third party (good value for the money) models just seems to be limited at the moment.
