Ferguson TE20 TVO Oil Filter

Trying to source an oil filter for someone for their 1949 Fergie. It has a vertical oil filter, around 90mm in height (one that he had sourced was 115mm and too tall). Does anyone know the filter that should fit?

Something strange I think. The vertical filters are usually around 133-144mm long. Could the bowl have been changed?

I haven't seen it in person, only doing the ordering/research. Its possible it may have been decades ago, I'll find out.

Old 20 parts are good and would be able to advise, does sound like it has been changed for a different one

Exactly, it was an odd felt/fabric type of filter that came out (and was thrown away years ago)

I'll report back once I get a look at it myself.

Think you're on to something tomlad........The Continental engines had vertical as did the early Standard 20C. The Continental oil filter is the same as used in the Ford Fergie 2N and 9N.
Doesn't give the length here but does give cross references..........

Not yet, I want to get a look at it myself to make sure the owner isn't missing something. Working with second hand information.

Just to update this, the housing has been swapped at some point, as the Tecalemit filter housing shouldnt have been on a TED20. However, the felt filter which @agrimax suggested should work.
