Ferobide: First trial results of the summer season

FullSizeRender.jpg

Topdown point c/w welded
hard facing. The two points on the right, one has had welded hard facing,
the other has had Ferobide both have completed 40ha on a 6m
topdown on very abrasive soils on the Yorkshire wolds
As you can see the welded hard facing has virtually worn away,
while the Ferobide point has much more life in it.

We tend to find that the Ferobide will last five to Severn times the life of hard facing if used as instructed.

But is that with the hard facing done as instructed ie diamonds or across the direction of soil flow, or wrongly as in the examples above.
What's the price of ferobide, fitting costs etc compared to hard facing?

trouble with diamond shapes to catch soil is soil to soil contact is a much higher friction compared to soil over shiney steel, think rusty plough boards

If Ferobide was welded behind the conventional Tungsten on this subsoiler point you could expect the point to last three times as long. In most cases Ferobide is an excellent companion product for conventional Tungsten. Any questions Stewart Peckitt 07966671669
