Hi oli, our spreader and I think the KRM both sit a little further back. We offer hydro drive but very rarely sell it as our discs run at a fixed speed all the time. A lot of manufactures offer and sell hydro drive as they vary the speed of their discs to alter spread patttern. We merely adjust the drop point on the disc ( a sulky patent until recently) to adjust our pattern
Is there less washing in the kuhn than the krmused to have a krm spreader when on 28 metres and it worked very well although because both the discs spread with a double overlap the discs spin quite fast and as a result you could always tell if a spreader was a krm from a distance as there is always a cloud of dust behind it.
got a kuhn when we moved to 36 m.
Don't be afraid to lok at a Sulky, ours is 21 years old and still capable and the paintwork is still excellent. Obviously things have moved on from 21 years ago but they are a good spreader that now come with all the bells and whistles.Hi Guys, I am looking to buy my own fert spreader after using a contractor for a number of years. I want section control, variable rate and all that kind of stuff so I believe it has to be hydraulic drive.
Is there a front runner make and model or anyone to avoid?
It’s kind of irrelevant if you get the trolley wheels as you can join all the pipes etc then wheel the machine back onto the arms. Lift the arms and job doneHow so Rob? I know some spreaders sit a bit further up and give you a bit more space? Anyway, hydraulic drive should be standard really and go away with joints, guards and the like.
