how many trays are you using, going to do it myself from now on
Every one seems to have their own way of doing it depending on what spreader they’re testing. Personally I use 7 trays and go from the centre of one tramline to the centre of the next with one every 4m (24m tramlines). It tally’s up with the manual so makes any adjustments easier.

this makes checking what’s in the trays much quicker and easier as well.

At 24m you're only needing a b c on them pictures that's why I still just do it the kuhn way as it's quick and easy just check the overlaps

It was a stock machine so I think it had just had all the boxes ticked on the options 😉

Been fert spreading today and thought back to this thread as wondered whether you’d got the electric cover or not and remembered your comment. Had to look back and find the pics again to check!

The electric cover struck me as an expensive way to tackle a simple problem, especially if something touched it and damaged it. The only downside of the folding cover is it does reduce capacity a bit I think as it flaps down into the hopper.

Hope the machine is going well!

No electric hopper cover 🙄, as you say it’s a bit extravagant for the sake of just pulling a handle!
Machines has run really well apart for a small software issue which keeps deactivating the autotrac on the jd for some reason🤦‍♂️ KV have it in hand though and it hasn’t actually affected the spreader itself (just me been lazy). Will need it sorted before we start putting N in the spring seed beds though.

Finished N1, p&k on all the winter cereals so it’s washed of and parked up until the weather drys up again and start spring drill then contract work starts as well in few weeks so will make a big difference on that job too.
The extra hopper capacity has definitely made a massive difference to productivity, just need another extension on it now 🤣

There's a bracket on my new 1 to stop it going down inside when opened like it did on my old machine .

Here's one for the lads that just do a weight and shaker test and just go off the corresponding charts before and after tray testing for a couple of hours
