Fertiliser Price Tracker

Would be brilliant however I highly doubt it, that would make it around £15/t cheaper than what they came out with for their new season price in June.

They have just released terms for DEC/JAN (Same price as spot price Nov) - You'll be looking roughly £257-£260 delivered on farm. Fairly sure with the market being so quiet that they're exporting again. Selling it cheaper abroad than they are their own country

Imported products stay extremely competitive.
If that is truly the case, ( selling abroad cheaper than here,)( I have nothing booked yet) I will seriously consider buying my 8 artic loads from abroad for the first time ever!

Got a text from MV today. Talk of CF dropping by £20 a tonne or not.

Anyone else get the CF survey monkey email earlier in the week?
Seemed to be keen to find out how much fert you still required to buy for next years crops.
Maybe just a fishing exercise to see if it worth dropping things by £20

Yep, I had this.

Interesting logic.

Questions weren’t too accurate-I could only select 80-100%, not 100%. So they wanted to know when I would buy the rest-pre or post Christmas. I won’t as I have no more to buy.

Oh, and always buy urea too. :)

Same here.
100% bought but made me go back at the end to say whether I’d be buying the rest before or after Xmas!

When is the best time to buy fert?
Normally most will agree (I hope)
Start of the new seasons prices, usually early June time.
But & this is the BUT.
Its ok if you have somewhere to store it as it may arrive within a few weeks of it being ordered & you either have the CASH or a short payment term deal which is often
how they sell you some of it that way, otherwise push it away 3/6/9months whatever is best for your cashflow.

When is the best time to buy fert?

As Farma Parma said, most years it's best to price it in June as the new season opens. Occasionally the price drops later on and the early bird loses out but this doesn't happen often. Maybe this year will be one of those exceptions?

This may have already been said but with a lot not planted there must be low uptake on fert at the moment and even if you have managed to plant, getting on the ground would be a mistake, you might not make it back to the yard, I can,t walk on my drilled wheat. I,ve shut the gate until March now.

I’d have thought the fertiliser companies have tons and tons of product about and may discount it a bit to move some.maybe they will catch a cold,as will chemical companies unable to move product.

From my knowledge at the minute, fert suppliers definitely have/are offering deals on spot movement with the quiet market. Spring is always busy for fert movement without this backends lack of sales, so at some point the market will pick up and so will pricing. In terms of AN, C.F still are only £5/t more than what they charged for their new season deal so I really can't see them slipping back pricing anymore than what it is today.

Or you could post here in the Fertiliser Price tracker thread and help us all out..? What’s to hide? :scratchhead:

Nothing to hide! By all means send me a direct message. I'm surprised more people don't share their contacts here... Who's everyone's cheapest/best supplier/rep by area then?!
