I only bought a load of that and one of sulphur N hoping if I hold out it’ll become cheaper?...
It might but getting it delivered might be the problem if better weather comes and everybody rings up for a load

Aaaarghhh. I bought all my expected requirement in July last year at about £20 a ton more than that

someone out there will be able to give an idea as to how many years out of the last 20 has it paid to buy and pay for including the cost of money as against waiting 7/8months or so till needed in feb

Well in the last 8 years I reckon it’s been about 70:30 in favour of buying early on deferred payment terms.
2012 I think we got it badly wrong.... and this year the same. Both years because of rain meaning a lack of demand

In most years, yes it's worth buying as soon as the season opens. 2008, 2016 and 2019 are the exceptions to this.

Ha! There's a website where you can plot a graph of anything you want e.g. sales of Star Wars toys vs global temperatures, usually used to take the mickey out of dubious "statistics." Can't remember what it is now...
I've spent much of the fertiliser buying season wondering whether I should have bought all mine back in June. On advice given, I only filled my liquid tanks but didn't book the spring tank top ups until recently. That turned out to be good advice. The past isn't always a guide to the future but I do look at historic data to aid decision making or justify a position to my employers.

Anyone got prices for the end of last week for 0-46-0 and 0-0-60 ?

0-0-60 is around £252 and TSP 0-46-0 is maybe a pound or two dearer? DAP 18-46-0 bought last week @£292 which is the best value with the nitrogen costing only a little over £ 2 per unit.
