Interesting you say this.

I'm planning on doing some testing next year to see how much difference sulphur makes to the uptake of N in our crops. Currently apply 100kg SO3 to each field but it's not my favourite job when it's already a busy time of year.
Origins 26N - 35So3 is only £200/t a fab product i must say. thats a lot less than this time 12months ago & Nitram nearly £60t less
Pity it wasnt £165 tho like it was only 4years ago

Best prices today
Nitram 199
Pulan 185
Urea 222

never used pulan, what’s its like at 28m?
Urea seems too high
I use it on 28m and it’s fine. It’s actually Easier to spread 28m or 30m as it throws it half way 14m each side so not the double overlap So make sure the spreader is set at the correct Pitch and half Full of Fert (Krm) when setting up

Never knew they were closed?

Have they withdrawn prices
Allways understood they opened books for a short while to get us to buy at maybe a special price.was told I think Thursday when merchants called saying cf books were open but may shut and withdraw their prices at dinner time, midday.be interesting if they sold what they wanted but reading on here I think a lot of farmers never bothered thinking it’s too expensive still.

That assumes that this thread is an accurate marker for what buying behaviour actually was. Plenty say one thing and do another. CF and Yara will only be offering a small % of their annual sales in these teasers - they only want enough orders to keep the plants & lorries running for the summer months.

The big buyers will all have taken a percentage on day 1 to underpin the price for the season.

Yes, but if the sales books empty later on then CF and others will have to drop the price to get more orders. It happened in 2009, 2013, March 2018 and January 2020.

I wonder of they've opened up sooner because they're sitting on a lot of this summers stock that either wasn't ordered or was cancelled late. I do a regular run past CF's Billingham factory, and in spring you can see dozens of 300t stacks laid out in the yards awaiting collection, and by early summer the yards are emptying.
I'll be driving down the A19 tomorrow for the first time since lockdown, I might take a detour...
The yards look pretty full, no wonder they’re keen to open the market up earlier. As for talk of monthly slots filling up.... ?
NB plenty more in the yard on the other side of the factory too.
