ive never bought tsp in my life, a bit of compound down the spout at drilling and some muck ploughed in should suffice?
Please tell me you have done soil tests tho? so only apply what the parcels of land need in every field
thats the modern way now, efficiency so i keep hearing :nailbiting:
No Animals or Grass in my Arable Rotation
i do however bring in cattle muck.
No Bagged P&K gets applied the land that year

That’s probably why I haven’t seen it then.👍

It should perhaps be pointed out that that doesn’t make it a ‘legal requirement’, much as RT would like to have that power no doubt.

It is clearly good practice anyway though, of course, RT or not.
Yeah thats correct but inspector does ask of evidence of soil testing/sampling in last 4 yr etc etc if you cant show paperwork its a non conformance

I would suggest that’s one of their more sensible requirements, not that they would know how many field parcels anyone would have. Showing that you are doing ‘a bit of soil testing’ probably isn’t a bad thing….

even if you did just so many every 4-5years is enuff but its good practice to be doing this anyways

I've not seen that, not that it wouldn't be sensible anyway. Is it an English/DEFRA thing, or an NVZ thing?

Applies to everyone, nothing to do with RT.

Essentially the rules are aimed at keeping fertilisers and manures in your soil, and keeping your soil on your land. Many farmers already comply with most of these rules voluntarily or through cross compliance for Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) or Nitrate Vulnerable Zone (NVZ) rules. However, these rules stand for everyone, with no exceptions, and will bring all farmers up to the same basic standard of good practice, including those that do not receive BPS or are not in an NVZ.

Presumably just an English/DEFRA regulation, enforced by your EA. But as above, it’s clearly sensible for everyone to know what they’re working with anyway.
