Just had supplier on the phone regarding my ‘August delivery’ of Nitram. They are pushing to try and get it delivered now, in case CF declare Force Majeure on such contracts as unable to supply (which could get ugly quickly!).
They did also say that there was little N actually on the market currently, apart from stocks of imported AN at Glasson, priced at something over £400/t!
Think I’d be finding some room to take it. You can always negotiate the payment date so it is the same as it was.
In my opinion it's not force majeure but a pure business move.Just had supplier on the phone regarding my ‘August delivery’ of Nitram. They are pushing to try and get it delivered now, in case CF declare Force Majeure on such contracts as unable to supply (which could get ugly quickly!).

If price of barley falls back to £125 ton. might not bother with fert, and accept 1 ton/ acre of grain less. I make fert costs at £100/ acre at those prices ??
Yep. @fertman21 mentioned this opportunity to work on the production plants hereIn my opinion it's not force majeure but a pure business move.
Of course it’s a business move, as has been mentioned, they’ll be selling the gas they have already bought for a profit. That isn’t force majeure. In my opinion it's not force majeure but a pure business move.
Probably. We used to regularly get 2 ton/ acre growing organically.........but we did use FYM....Unless you’ve got muck, digestate, etc you’re yields will drop by more than a ton I suspect.
I have 2 strips (1 ha) of ‘wild bird seed’ for Glastir Advanced here, which is 95% Spring Barley, which I drilled at the same rate and on the same day as my ‘proper’ SB crops, but then it doesn’t get any ferts, fungicides, etc.
Looking at the pitifully poor crops there now, 0.5t/ac would be looking on the optimistic side as regards yield.
cheaper for you to buy your own muck spreader and cart from next doorProbably. We used to regularly get 2 ton/ acre growing organically.........but we did use FYM....
With the usual spring drought, and gawd awful August harvest every year now, I reckon 2.5 ton/ acre is now average here. The threat of no fert isn't going to worry me that much TBH. For one year anyway.
And I could sell all those concrete blocks and bits of steel it contains....cheaper for you to buy your own muck spreader and cart from next door
DAP an eye watering £570.
Was quoted £465!I heard £450/ t urea this morning
scrap is good at the momentAnd I could sell all those concrete blocks and bits of steel it contains....
Indeed. It's not force majeure. In my opinion it's not force majeure but a pure business move.
