Fertiliser Price Tracker

nitrogen will be £200/t come spring...just sit on yer hands.....they've got to make it...they're being paid to make it.....it'll stack up and then gas price'll fall
I think I’ll be happy with my decision and am certainly not going to risk not buying in the hope that N falls 250 pounds a ton!!!!
Actually I believe the risk is for at least a further 100 pounds a ton increase.
Canola we sold in march for $504/ton. Friday of last week we sold Canola for $939/ton. The downside is that due to drought the yield in 2021 is three fifths of 2020 so I’m actually little if any better off.
Does anybody seriously believe supplier companies are not going to take as much as they can of the farmers theoretical windfall?

They haven't made up the 250% rise in gas prices
They have sold there forward positions and most of the fert currently in stock will have been produced long before the current spike in gas prices,as someone said prices go up like a rocket on a rising market but down like a feather on a falling one, there are going to be some burnt fingers at some point, mine included I would imagine.

I took some cover with a load of urea this morning. I possibly have paid too much when prices start to settle, but my other concern was getting physical stock on farm in the spring if the logistics problem continues.

Well, it wasn't profitable last week, its
CF have played a blinder here, spook the market, cause panic buying with massive price increases then get a sub from UK gov!!

Unsure. Only works once. Expect once it settles down they may get a lot of random h&s, vat, HMRC visits if not a full competition commission investigation.
