Just had a quick bash at it and for me I’ll be keeping and applying the N.
If you have OSR in and price it is then N for that is a forgone conclusion by this point, probably the same for 1st wheats.
Winter oats and barley can be tweaked down, 2nd wheats well they probably aren’t in the ground yet but seed on farm, swap for less hungry spring barley.

Reselling N either all or 50%, (even if it was re sold at double the price) netts a surprisingly small profit even when compared to applying it to a 2nd wheats for me.

We could well see a drop in the world price of fertiliser. But even that happens CF fertilisers will do their absolute best to keep the price high here.
That point may be true, if they were actually making any to sell to the market, and they still need to deliver up their outstanding order book, probably lost over 150,000 tonnes of production that has not been made up or replaced by imports.

Looking at what I have in stock I have enough to put an average of 160 kg/ha across the farm. I think I can live with that on my light land. I use 175 kg/ha on my wheat and OSR, 150 on winter barley, 120 on spring barley and only 100 on linseed.
If I was waiting until spring to buy it all then getting physical stock onto farm on time would be my primary concern.
Is that 175kg/ha of Product or actual N your putting on wheat? Doesnt seem like much

At what stage/price do you think about locking in with a forward wheat sale just in case things went the other way with the wheat price. Cheap wheat and pricey N don't make a profit.
Personally I will sell a bit when I have it planted if the price of wheat remains as it is over the next week. The current travails of the intensive livestock industry present quite a big risk for UK feed growers IMO. Who knows what will be happening in 12 months?
