Ask yourselves can those other countries around the world grow
food cheap anymore, inflation is a global problem not just a UK one .
Our biggest threat is a government that will import food from nearly any destination
whilst simultaneously doing away with equal standards or requirements.
Sometimes you just wonder how our gov lyes straight in bed any night talk about shafting its own people.

Can’t ever remember a government as hostile to farmers as this one, sooner they are gone the better for UK ag.

Blairs government, Nick Brown was OK as ag minister, but to reward us for the fuel strikes we had Jack Cunningham in the new DEFRA (Its would have pained them to have 'Ag' in the title) and Margaret f**king Becket, both of whom presided over the lost decade of farm profitability. I'll take the current bunch of inbred incompetents over Blairs bunch of champagne socialist cockwombles any day.

You need to give the current lot a bit more time yet.

No sign of it running out .
All things considered, gas still 3-4 times the price it was 12 months ago. Russia who WERE suppliers of circa half of all AN and large proportion of Urea, P+K to Europe now cannot export that. May be wise to hedge your bets on some fert on new season...... unless that is, if you somehow know that Putin is going to withdraw sharpish and that all sanctions get dropped soon after, then there would be sense in waiting to order some top grade Russian dust to try spreading 24m.

The fert price doesn't bother me , the wheat price does

Agree, but I think you’ll find that Gordon Brown’s reign as Chancellor has been the single biggest disaster for the UK as a whole (not just farming) in living memory. The seeds of the UK’s destruction were mainly sown by him.

Actually they were more like strong saplings.
