The urea deals i was offered were all "you'll get it sometime between July and February".
I assume fertilizer merchants and importers will be covered by force majeure in the event that their product turns out to be slightly radioactive for some unforeseen reason.

But what about 2023 crop forward grain sales now being made in order to balance our books?

On past experience, we will clearly have no redress against defaulting suppliers but realistically no defence against our counterparties operating under grain traders' standard terms.

Could be a very nasty squeeze indeed.

Dunno. I doubt they can blame a war that's already going on.

But I'll say now I won't be selling any grain to anyone where I can't get trade credit insurance. Because nothing says "oh 5h1t" like a small farm being sat waiting for quarter of a million quid come June 2023.

There was plenty of talk of not buying at these prices, but if this thread is a true reflection of the national sentiments, the bulk of next year is done.
It is what it is, but I still think Ā£20k for a load of fert feels a lot like being lined up for a furking.
Making the best choise given the information at hand. Still limited supply, yes it's more than i paid last year, but much cheaper than it got to. Theres no indication at the moment that fert is going anyway but up, and nothing to indicate grain price (in particular) is going to drop by much or at all in the next 12 months, especially given all thw headlines regarding massive food shortages around the world

Sulphur is relatively short in supply. Especially with Ince still off-line. Urea + S blends might be the most cost effective solution?

With GBP having gained ground against the USD today, Urea must look especially good value

Are MVF still Ā£720?
