Is it a Scottish thing, putting fertiliser down the spout. We’ve never done it here and wouldn’t have the drill to do it.
Seems to be the reasons hehee
must admit if i had a lot more spring cropping id still put the fert on the worked land before hand if need be.
Its a Faf doing fert at same time as seed imho.
Then you need two hoppers etc etc etc.
I get the reasons the further north you go why its done tho.
Starter fert for OSR sowing gets all put on the stubbles here its so easy.
But thats it only other fert ive put on stubbles was DAP once but dont use it now.
TSP onto any stubbles is fine i still think otherwise its on after crop comes up in the autumn if conditions allow

I got a tank fill price of 28n2.5s w/w of £239/t pay Sept or £245 pay Jan.

another quote for 27n5s w/w for £251.

Both June-August delivery. Lowest price now withdrawn.
Is that per cube? Seems cheap. I just got a load of 29.12 in at £273. Next August load £279

New to liquid fert so apologies if stupid question.

Per tonne which is what everyone expect Yara sell it as. Taking into account the S.G. given the top quote would convert into w/vol

36n3.2s at £308/m3 (or £316 pay Jan)

The other quote would be 34.8n6.5s w/vol at £323.8/m3

But how long ago was the order for that placed? I have a load of MOP ordered for July delivery at a price similar to yours ..... but my mistake was that i should have ordered two loads the way things are looking now.
Ordered 2 weeks ago and delivered shortly after. Not done any new season N yet though (normally all urea/sulphur blend) so may have got that wrong

Here ( in Sweden ) we usual buy our fertilizer now for next years use. However price is high now so we are not sure to buy now.
We buy usual NPK 22-6-6+s ,NS Axan 27-4s
And MAP .
How does farmers in UK do now?
Is it common to buy now for next year?
Yep most of us are talked in to buying it an storing it for 6 months  The "just in time" modern production methods don't apply in agriculture....

Yes you (and I) have perhaps got that wrong. I was quoted £345 for 38N 19S a couple of days ago.
I paid £275 iirc for the same ordered in Feb (not they’ve bothered billing for it yet🤐), and it had already jumped by that point.

Nitrogen prices are up again internationally so we can expect a real jump in the UK prices. Not that I think there will be many rushing to buy. But, you have to wonder how much will get sent from the UK abroad in the coming months where the prices are attractive.

When they run out of room in the stockyards at Billingham, they'll either drop the price and still make good profit, or turn the plant off and make bugger all.
I'll be heading down the A19 past the factory next week...
It turns out that a lot of people were persuaded to buy 'blue bag, the yards were pretty empty when I drove past on Monday...

Would not think a few 300 ton heaps that have gone is really small bear in the scheme of things ,livestock farmers will have to buy now no other choice gras to grow.
