Fertiliser Price Tracker

CF haven’t offered any fresh terms since they announced the closure, so are yet to take advantage of these mental high prices, it’s only been imported gear or product held in merchants stores that has benefited from the price rises.

Several of my July loads got delivered today, so am still thinking all will get delivered.

They make fertiliser and have been helped along by government to do so. They could start selling it. They know they are creating panic by not selling. The importers are at least selling it and are giving farmers the choice to buy or not.

Who carry’s they debt on fertiliser , as I could see merchants, especially the smaller independents, getting a bit worried about when farmers will pay .

They need to supply existing orders first. The government has helped them to keep co2 flowing not fert.

I’d do it average purchase price. How do you know when you want to buy your replacement and what price would it be at that point?
Well you could use the price next spring as replacement cost? I always ignore anything other than the price I paid, not so sure this is necessarily the right approach ATM.

Good question, I guess you need to need to factor forgone revenue as to what you could sell it or replace it at, so replacement cost. Depends if you want to make yourself feel happy or sad 😂🤦‍♂️

What you could sell it for only figures if you wouldn’t lose output by selling it. (Why did you buy fert in the first place if you didn’t think it was going to improve your output!)
If re-selling your fertilizer is likely to match your profit from selling your 2022 crop output then fair enough.
