Would be interesting to know exactly how much is already bought and on farm for next year, how much is bought and as yet to be delivered, how much is still sitting in storage unsold and how many farms are sitting with full/half/zero cover. I suppose the trade would love to know this just the same as end users like to know how much grain we have on farm…..

I never normally order before December, mainly because I haven’t had space to store the stuff and like it delivered in February or even March, once straw sheds have room and just before we actually need to use it in April. It’s always worked in the past but I suppose this is a form of just in time delivery which is failing in many other sectors over the last year.
Got most of ours on farm, bought before the price rises, still waiting on 7t of extran, a couple of loads of double top and a couple of loads of straights but all bought up front

That is obviously a per Tonne analysis. We used to plough down in feb ahead of beet ex Pedersens from Noble Foods . Different analysis, so worth getting your own test. Broiler usually 30kg./T, layer nearer 20kg/T

per ton of DM presumably, so nearer £60/t, plus transport & spreading?

At a 3x increase in price since last winter, it has gone up more than granular fert.😂
