Here's the view from the other side of the pond, does make you think what the effects will be next year.

Same sh!t different country. Funny reading the replies its all very familiar talking about broken calculators and renting the whole lot to a neighbour. I think the most sobering point I took from it was that most of those farmers had poor/disaster harvests this year so with already poor bank balances they are having to fund the most expensive crop they have ever grown. If mother nature doesn't play ball they are in serious trouble. Nervous times
 
Do an experiment yourself only thing you need to do is walk a line yourself in a field with no cattle in it and the grass will nt grow the same it has to be a regular walk not just a one of in the same line cattle walk a lot over a field when grazing.
Several passes of heavy machinery to cut, spread, row, chop and haul grass also have an effect along with subsequent passes with fert and muck

Fertiliser now in shed apart from 1load of single top, ironically I didn't really need that load and might of just scraped through but I thought I would give myself a bit of leaway
Spose I ought to weld the doors shut when last load arrives
