One load delivered this morning. Apparently the lorry had a heavy tractor unit so I received 27.6tonnes!
46 bags Urea instead of 47.
Bought at £440/t
Did well to get that ammount of urea on a wagon, can often struggle to get 26t on, not due to the lorry weight limit, more the slightly bulkier nature of urea taking up more space. No end of part loads of urea still to be delivered due to not getting full weights on lorries.

Just an update I’ve another 27.6t coming tomorrow, then the haulier is going to drop the last 2 bags in next week as he has a 25t order to fulfil locally.
It was all above board and a genuine issue with weight.

Thanks to the new COVID variant looks like OSR and wheat are going back down in price... What's bloody next?
Keep calm and carry on. I'm not sure this is as big a deal as is being made out. We will know more in the new year. Prices will likely drop a bit until we know what is going on with the new C19 variant, but unless its really really bad I would guess they will still remain at historically high prices for a while yet. The world needs a record harvest next year to bring prices back to anywhere like 6 months ago and Fert price and availability suggest that that is a very long shot. That would be my guess anyway!

OSR has made good gains on futures again this afternoon. The fundamentals are still there for strong prices. I’m hoping it was just an over reaction to bad news. The suits need prices to go up AND down to make money

They love volatility. If they are good they make money on the way up and the way down. They really don't want to be involved in a stagnant market.

There is nobody more annoyed at the price of fertiliser then me BUT we are fairlly heavy stocked so we have a problem the one slight saving grace is a least we are getting good money for the lambs that ate the grass this year. I think we will wait to see how prices pan out ( prob like everyone else) and buy some maybe not as much as normall which for us is an artic load

I bet the driver would be told to forego breakfast if it was 700

I trust your contract says 28.2. Make them bring it.

My 15t of PotashpluS came on an artic this morning. He also had a single bag on that he had to deliver to the Wirral (90 minutes away) as someone had received an artic load with a bag missing.

I was supposed to have had 2 bags of Ag Salt on the same load, and they only brought one. He might be back here again next week. :ROFLMAO:

I had been told orders at the moment were on a full load only basis due to transport, not good for the smaller farmers who don’t need a full load.
It wouldseem by the above that transport ain’t that big of an issue

Wonder what the cost to deliver one bag is !
I guess it would all hinge on where the lorry was heading next to load

I think he was back to Shrewsbury (Wynnstay lorry), so delivering that one bag, valued at £228, will likely have wiped out much of the margin on the load.

My 15t isn't needed before March, and left it with them to make up a load when it suited. They suggested December delivery, then rang to try to arrange delivery for Dec 1st (I couldn't unload yesterday though). I took from that, that shortage of haulage wasn't a problem, and probably not moving much fert about.
