YARA NEW 52S - 600 KGS ( glorified 20.10.10 )
TONNE £630.00
ACTYVA S 16.15.15 + 6.5So3 - 600 KGS
TONNE
£645.00
Artic load.
This was our deal pre Christmas
January delivery
Paid for already.
It’s plus £36 per acre on the grass letting land which I hope we can recover.
Logic is that if price comes back it won’t be before early April. Grass letting requires fert spread in early April. Delivery times could be a nightmare so bit the bullet. Time will tell if it is a mistake.

Not saying I know all the ins and out but doing a bit of my own research and following the news. The height of natural gas was December 21st at 416. It generally traded at below 50 in the two years before 2021. It has since the start of 2021 steadily rose. This seems to follow what happens with fertilizer and home gas and electric prices. Since the Russians sent more into the market this has tumbled down to 167 on 31st December. If I had put my gas and electric tariff on a fixed tariff a few months ago as I normally would have I would be paying a hell of a lot more a month. As it stands I chose not to do this and go variable rate (following market prices) Right now I am now far cheaper on both than going fixed rate.

IF fert prices continue to follow this I think it will still be expensive this year (lots already bought and forward contracted). If the natural gas price continues to come down I think It will be a good bit cheaper for 2023. Its all down to global politics really. Will it be cheap to buy next years supply in the summer then go through the roof again in the winter?

No. Tesco will look after their shareholders and themselves.

And still tell us they're saving the planet by importing the cheapest Eastern European mystery horse meat, while selling 'meat alternatives' with more plastic packaging than product.
tesco are a business
no morality except to make profits
they happen to sell groceries
and have no public or civic responsabilities
whatsoever

I contribute on a motoring forum and when the topic was Whats going to be news in 22? I made a post about food shortages and was totally shot down by a ag commodities trader of 10 years who belittled my comments and according to him Tescos will look after the population! I hope he is wrong!
tesco will look after the population by shafting every farmer they can. Supermarkets put farming on its knees and won’t be giving them any breaks either. not even a discount coupon on Vaseline

do supermarkets control the grocery trade in canada
I’d find it hard to believe if they didn’t. Friend used to milk goats and process, package and deliver onto sobeys, he did very well from milking the goats but the supermarket would add on promotional cost every couple of month that we’re insane. Basically wiped out a weeks milk cheque. They know your on the hook and can’t wriggle off and will play every angle. Signing on to supply the big player sound like the right thing to do but these businessmen have no morals and answer only to money. BIL is a manager at a smaller supermarket and it’s unreal what games they play to lower their losses from produce spoiling or leaving them with spoilt good. Apparently Sunday’s the older fruit and vegetables are put on the displays because the Sunday shoppers will be back to work on Monday and won’t realize it’s spoiled early but won’t have the time to return or complain. Doesn’t do much for repeat business in my mind but it’s their policy
