Just out of interest, and I know there are a list of variables miles long, but what percentage would a typical cereal crop yield with no fertiliser, compared to if it had received the full amount?

30 to 50%?

Depends if you've got 50 years of continuous cropping, or ploughing up PP.
Used to get 1-2 ton acre of barley growing it organically. Lots of FYM used, but barley followed spuds & veg and didn't get any.
The biggest problem isn't low yields, it's low bushel weights, pinched grains, admix, etc. Merchants will have to be less fussy........

Just an idea for the guys with no fert how would it be if you baught urea and disolved it and sprayed wheat every 10 days with 8 kg of urea in 200 liters of water per hktr .

Well, you'd probably spend a fortune in application costs, and also loose the will to live if you had more than a few hundred acres to do.

Reality now if you've no fert but planted crops is you buy fert; accept poor yields; or see if any neighbours have spare feet on the basis that you replace it next year. Worth an ask.

At 1000 per tonne no one should be using more than 170 kg per ha

all fertiliser rate calculations should use £3 a kg on
the 70 kg reduction saves £ 210 per ha the yield reduction will be less than a tonne per ha less phosphate needed
running the combine for a day less only when grain is dry will save £ 15 to £ 20. Per tonne in fuel gas and electric
Do you take into account missing out on the increased yield with the probable higher prices for product
