There maybe plenty of appetite to mop up all uk production. imported is currently being sold at a loss because they have to be less than cf. That will make importers reconsider buying any more.
So cf could be the only supplier to the uk market for next year.

This is a global market just because you hope it will go down doesn't mean it has to.
Why do you think its at a loss, urea arrived at Immingham when the going price was £600, and probably loaded when the price was £450, its for sale now at £1000.

Suppose the flip to that is wheat being loaded today onto trucks. First wagon in leaves the farm with wheat at £150 tonne, second wagon leaves with wheat at £250 tonne and third leaves at £300 tonne. All cost same to produce and no difference in the actual wheat. Just the way it is.

A simple calc says wheat @ £200 v fert @ £200 = 1.33 loads of wheat to pay for load of fert

Wheat at £300 v fert @ £800 = 2.66 loads to pay for same .

Are we better off ?

agronomist has a snazzy spreadsheet with all these variable costs & wheat at £225 with Nitrogen at £800 it then said you need 3t crop to clear ya feet
Its a bigger risk than its ever been in the past, of course everytime wheat increases like its still doing today & fert poss less a little bit where on the right side
But are we? Not many get that great high price things are at now not to mention in the future.

With the granular fertiliser prices so high, has anyone used liquid fertiliser on grassland? I've asked for information off the seller , but I don't know if there has to be a lot of grass before it's sprayed on. Can it be applied when sheep have taken the grass till it's bare?
Liquid usually works out more expensive!
