Oh I see you edited your post now about the 12,000 tonnes of fertiliser that needs to be taken off the boat, all the trucks racing back to the storage. The person on the crane must be a very skilled operator! (y)

Did I hear that fella right? 'we need to stay within our Target of loosing less than half a percent of the 26,000 ton cargo' . ? Can't be right? Surely? That's 130tons?

Spent a lot of time round ports watching stuff like that, crane grabing a 4 leg chain in the bucket with a bobcat hanging on it dropping it down into the boat for clearing the last out.
A lorry loaded grain from the hopper & headed off, must of weighed too heavy so came back & put maybe 2 ton out through the chute onto the ground. After he left the crane lifted all but maybe 2 cwt in one lift, thought they would have brushed it up but na, bobcat came & brushed it over the edge into the sea....

I thought that... he was acting as if he’s had to get a run up :scratchhead:

I worked at tilbury docks for a bit. Plenty loader drivers like that.

Saying that a kiwi fella that worked with us cracked the front window of volvo shovel doing a emergency stop!:banghead:

How strange the hopper suddenly started working again when maintenance crew turned up. :scratchhead:

I always remember going onto a fert vessel and peering over into one of the holds only to see a 360 grabbing it out the corners for the clam shell! Last thing I thought I’d see but beats a shovel.
