Hi just looking for some advice about a fiat 1000 i have which is in a very poor state and wanted to know if its worth restoring as it needs a engine rebuild among a lot of other things inc the clutch as you don't seem to see them and what are they like and any ideas on body panels cheers mike
They were a beast of a tractor in 1974 , uncle had one and an 880

Cams do not need re-profiling just skimming the same amount all round just enough to remove the damage then the valve lift will remain the same. They may need to be re hardened afterwards.

I just checked and Kent Cams are still in business so may be worth a phone call to discuss what your options are to reclaim the lobes on your existing camshaft.

just a update to say i have sent the camshaft off to newman camshafts who have called to say they can regrind it and will not need to be re hardening and will cost £160,crank has had a regrind on the b/ends to 10"us and mains polished just waiting on doing the liners as i have got semi finished ones which need fitting then reboring to match the new pistons

at least 8 years and was seized due to water down the exhaust but have got it running and since taken the engine apart and it needs dry liners fitting etc and crank is worn on b/ends but on the plus side i do work at a agricultural dealer so can get parts cheaper
Think they were around with these cabs circa 1977/78
