Fibre optic cable compensation

I have a fibre optic company about to install there gear along a privately owned verge , roughly 750 m long .

what price per meter would be a fair pay out ?

i can refuse them permission but they will eventually be granted it by the courts although that would take a long time or they can dig the road which would be very costly .

Just ask for free connection to the fibre broadband, had local company put some through here last year, if we didn’t have a map of where it is you wouldn’t know they’d been through with the mole plough

Had the same here a couple of years back. A private company wanted to install a cable to supply local town with high speed internet. Company owns internet and cell towers across southern Manitoba. They offered 200$ lol. I asked was that per meter but it was total. Got the speech that it would be for the good of the community and a real benefit for local businesses. Apparently only buried a meter deep and any damage would be subject to repair costs and loss of income to the company. i Asked if they’d consider free internet and cell phone for everyone at the farm but was told they weren’t in the business of loosing money. Still no cable to town

Arrogant gobshites. Well done for digging in of the heels, it sounds like telecom companies are the same the world over!

Got about 1000 metres here in 2001. It’s well over 1200 mm deep with 1 chamber in an existing track. One off payment £13k.
It’s “Dark Fibre” .
£13/m run - well done!

Easement - You need a price / metre run, quoting 'Courier' as a comparable.
+ payment for your time, bearing in mind that you will need to check the depth of this cable during installation.
+ confirmation that they will pay your agent's fees if you feel the need to instruct one AT ANY STAGE.
+ payment for any remedial work you need to do to the verge.

Insist that any chambers are completly flush - Many years ago during a council verge mowing contract we were working where a fibre optic had been installed and the grass had grown up enough to hide the chambers, - but they were all proud and the flail ripped every one out; about 18 I seem to remember!

Can you stop them.
They seem to believe they have ultimate
power .

Depends on the situation I guess. If you don't say no then you've never got a chance of stopping them.

Often saying "no" just means they will go around you instead. They'd rather keep their life simpler and stick to Plan A though.

Believe me they dont leave you alone and start
writing in a threatening tone.
