Fibromyalgia

I think Ive had tender points all my life. Wasnt until I was in my later 20's that I went down with sudden fatigue and pain post sudden and awful death in family and mild depression. I had to battle through it but was an absolute struggle but my pain was never severe. The fatigue did put me though depression and ruined my life causing the split of my marriage. Anyway nearly 20yrs on Im ok I can manage it but I get fatigue and dragging pains. So Im none the wiser whether I have mild CFS or mild Fibro. I do get exhausted though.

Routine, good diet (organic), slower lifestyle, less chemicals in house) outdoors and more simple pleasures helps. Certain anti depressants work but I couldnt tolerate them. Def sun and warmth.

Def a modern thing due to stress but I do beleive certain personality traits are more prone and def appears after illness or inability to cope.

My chiropractor has a machine called a "K Laser" as I have just finished a course of 4 treatments for chronic back pain and the lovely lady that does the treatments said they have alot of Fibromyalgia suffers using the K Laser as it's really helping them. Maybe worth googling and seeing if any Chiropractors local to you are running one but they aren't cheap to purchase as around 30k.
Two types tho as Vet or Human usage

can't "like" that
they haven't really found anything to help Clare and seem to have given up with it
My partners mother has fibromyalga, she was in a bad way with it a couple years ago , but has dieted and exercised like a mad thing the last 12-18 months and is now off all meds and is looking better than she has for years ,
so don't give up hope, i'm sure diet/ eating good food helps a lot , and keeping at a healthy weight

My mother's late Aunt had it,she was a wonderful woman who was full of life but it affected her pretty badly from time to time.I'm pretty sure that she had it in tandem with something called Reynaud's disease which is a circulation problem which can often be linked to it..

I saw a report on this recently - a friend of mine has it so it stuck in my head. It appears they have now discovered the cause for it - those who suffer from it have an excess of blood vessels in their hands, legs and feet. This explains why pain relief is so hard to find because it is not a "brain pain" so the neuro pain relief methods don't work.

Now that they know what causes it, I dare say that researchers will be looking at ways to fight it. I found this article on it....
